![]() Gameplay of Lava Surfing
Over time, several smaller BIONICLE online games were released. Most of them were released by other companies to serve the purpose of promoting a certain BIONICLE media like the BIONICLE: Mask of Light movie or BIONICLE overall. Others were released on BIONICLE.com and served as previews for upcoming story. They were all characterized by simple graphics and short gameplay.
In this download are included: Huai Snowball Sling (2000): A short Shockwave game featuring a popular Matoran sport: Snowball Sling. It was released in 2001 on BIONICLE.com and originally part of the BIONICLE: Quest for the Toa GameBoy Advance Game. It was taken down from the BIONICLE website in 2003. Lava Surfing (2003): One of six small games featuring the Toa Nuva to promote the BIONICLE: Mask of Light movie. In this game, the player controlled Tahu Nuva, who has to collect Nuva symbols and avoid obstacles while surfing on Lava. Onua's Memory Challenge (2003): Another of the six Toa Nuva games to promote the BIONICLE: Mask of Light movie. Here, the player has to click Nuva symbols in the sequence they lit up. Kopaka's Ice Trail (2003): Promoting the BIONICLE: Mask of Light movie, the player used the mouse to guide a small red dot along an icy path as quickly as possible, without straying from the line. Pohatu's Matching Pairs (2003): A promotional game for the BIONICLE: Mask of Light movie. The player had to flip tablets in order to try to match them in this memory game. Gali Nuva's Rapid Descent (2003): The player took control of Gali trying to land her safely on a platform in the Endless Ocean without crashing or running out of energy in this BIONICLE: Mask of Light promotional game. Forest Flyer (2003): Another game promoting the BIONICLE: Mask of Light movie, in which the player controlled Lewa flying through the skies of Le-Wahi trying the avoid the clouds. BIONICLE: Colgate (2004): Sponsored by Colgate, it was a short Shockwave platform game consisting of three levels. The game featured the Toa Metru Vakama, Matau and Whenua who had to collect all Kanoka Discs in their levels while avoiding flying obstacles. BIONICLE: Battle Zone (2005): Featured on Neopets.com, this was a short game where the player took control of Toa Hordika Vakama in his quest to find the Makoki stones while defending himself of the Visorak. How to Draw a Piraka (2005/2006): A small promotional game which served the purpose of a preview of the Piraka sets. Two versions of this game were released in 2005- one of BIONICLE.com and one on Piraka.com. Both are included in this download. PC only. Barraki Teaser Game (2007): This game was released in early 2007 as a teaser for the Barraki. The player opened gates in the pit, freeing the Barraki. It was updated six times, each time releasing a new Barraki. Since this version is the last update, it does not have any real gameplay anymore. Sea Survival (2007): A small platform game released on Jetix.co.uk (Disney), featuring Dekar avoiding the Barraki while escaping. It was part of a contest run by Jetix, in which one could win one Barraki or all Barraki and Nocturn. BIONICLE Mahri: Hewkii (2007): This platform game, also run by Jetix (Disney), featured Hewkii Mahri defeating all six Barraki bosses. It is said that it was supposed to feature all Toa Mahri, but that update never came. Mistika: Swamp of Secrets (2008): A series of small online games released on YTV.com, promoting most of the Mistika. Four games were released, featuring Tahu, Gali, Krika and Gorast. Sands of Time (2009): The good name reveals nothing of the game itself: A small platform game released on Disney.co.uk, it was likely made by the same people who made the Sea Survival (2007) as the game is structured identically with just a few graphics replaced. Often the Barraki will appear instead of the Glatorian who even are badly cut out prototypes giving the game an overall poor and worse appearance then Sea Survival (2007) had, despite having the same structure. Prepare for Battle (2009): The first and only augmented reality game for BIONICLE released on YTV.com, this game required a webcam and a printer in order for the player to control Mata Nui and let him train with his Thornax Launcher.
