Gameplay of Glatorian Arena
The Glatorian Arena game marks a milestone in the BIONICLE online game history. Released 25th February 2009 for online play, 11th March 2009 for download and offline play and replaced online by its sequel Glatorian Arena 2 16th September 2009, it is the first full 3D BIONICLE and LEGO online game with the new Unity3D browser plugin. Unity3D and thus also this game were characterized by excellent quality 3D graphics and fast speed. The Glatorian Arena game featured all first six Glatorian sets Gresh, Tarix, Malum, Strakk, a Vorox and a Skrall released in Winter 2009 and the magnificent Arena Magna (displayed above). The game consists of four modes: the Navigation Area, where one chooses the game mode, the Glatorian and handles controls, options, Glatorian skills, stats and awards. Additionally, B.I.O. Codes from the Glatorian packages can be entered to unlock them. The other three are the Challenge Game, in which one chooses a Glatorian and fights through six leagues, defeating all other Glatorian sets, the Spikeball Game, in which one plays as Gresh with another Gresh lookalike against two Skrall in a very difficult match which is similar to soccer. Finally, the Outskirts Area, where one walks around with their Glatorian in the Arena Magna outskirts and talks with the Agori. While all these game modes were improved and changed in the sequel game, the Spikeball Game was removed for its difficulty.
On the BIONICLE website, the Glatorian Arena game was replaced by its successor, but a saving version can still be downloaded from there. You can also download the tutorial which was available from the LEGO Customer Service website here.
